A while back a forum member posted on the repair of a die-cast (pot metal, white metal) part and that he was available to repair other parts. I have searched but can't find any of those posts. I have some parts that need repair so am wanting to contact that person to see if he can help me.

Anyone know who made the posts and can possibly do my needed repairs?

Muggy weld works pretty well. I used it to reattach the screw down tabs on the hood ornament on my 1940 Chevy pu.

m006840,
That is what I was searching to find. I remembered that an aircraft type hood ornament was repaired. Guess it was a reference to the website that was listed on Chatter.

Thanks for the help.

Alloy/potmetal repair system has been developed here in Aus. The demonstration I have seen 2 coke cans are welded together using propane torch and wire. Where a puncture hole is welded the weld is stronger than the can around it.

Chip,

I had James at https://potmetal.repair/ repair broken quarter window frames and broken vent glass frames for my 48' convertible. Not cheap but he did a great job.

If you go to his website look at his examples. My pieces (before and after pics) are in the gallery "48 Pontiac Convertible Quarter window frames".
