Redoing my springs and suspension rubber. Bought the replacement parts from LMC. Issue is the frame mount hole for front spring shackle. Knocked out the rotted old grommets and inner sleeve. The new grommets that go into the shackle mount hole in the frame stick too far out. As you can see in picture, bolt end barely peeks out past shackle. Is the mushroom top supposed to fit partially in the hole? Tried to press it in. No luck. Did the original bushing in this hole have a metal outer sleeve? Hard to tell by looking at the hole.

Thanks!!

I guess you don't have your old parts. My '71 and '72 K10s are gone but my Brother has a '71. I could get a look at it if you can't figure it out.
