Redoing my springs and suspension rubber. Bought the replacement parts from LMC. Issue is the frame mount hole for front spring shackle. Knocked out the rotted old grommets and inner sleeve. The new grommets that go into the shackle mount hole in the frame stick too far out. As you can see in picture, bolt end barely peeks out past shackle. Is the mushroom top supposed to fit partially in the hole? Tried to press it in. No luck. Did the original bushing in this hole have a metal outer sleeve? Hard to tell by looking at the hole.
Welcome the wonderful world of replacement “reproduction” parts.
Hopefully one of the VCCA Chat experts will offer a solution. You might also post in the Stovebolt forum. There are lots of K truck experts on that forum.
I have a 1972 K5 that should have the same parts. Unfortunately was 20+ years ago that the suspension was redone. Don't remember any problems but likely used NOS parts instead of replacement. The second problem is the Blazer is in a position that getting to the front end is not easy at the moment. I can change that with some effort if other options don't pan out.
