To keep with the original air cleaner, will a 51 Bel air 216 carb work on a 62 235 engine ? Thanks.

I doubt it. The needs of the engines are completely different. The 235 would likely be in a consistent lean condition. If I'm wrong someone will chime in.

The 235 and 216 carbs do not have the same mounting pattern-the 235 is wider.
