I heard this part also called a "cut out". Can this part be bench tested to see if it works? If so, how does one perform the test? I am assuming that it is 6 volt and from what is researched, only fits cars from 1929-1939. The only markings on it is GEN on one of the terminals. I'm just trying to find it a new home. Thanks

If it were mine I would let it sit on the shelf.
Being used and of unknow value it is not worth the cost of mailing + new ones are eeadily available.

The coil inside the circuit breaker (cut-out) is grounded through the housing.

If you apply more than about 7 volts to the Gen terminal the coil should click. That will close the points. You should have voltage at the other terminal.
