A gorgeous black '57 Bel Air convertible fitted with a continental tire appears a number of times in the movie "ELVIS". At least once with "Elvis" driving and another as a prop on a street scene.

My question is, did GM offer a continental as a '57 option or would that have been after-market?

Both - The one GM offered had the bumper curving around the spare, The aftermarket had the complete bumper extended.
