I tried to take my Locking Hub Cap off my 34 Master today but it would not unlock. I sprayed some lub. in it but it still won't budge. It has not been off in a couple of years. I don't want to get rough with it and break the key. Any suggestions? Would heat help?

See if you can twist the hubcap back and forth to jar the four fingers.

So far, no luck but I'll keep trying. The lock does not seem to move at all. I may have to take the entire wheel and mount off and see if I can get to it from the back although I do not want to.

After looking at the Cover I see I won't be able to get to the Hub Cap even if I take the whole unit off so I'll keep trying to work it loose from the front. Any other suggestions?

Jon, Push in on the cap as you turn the key to make sure the 4 fingers are not dragging or hanging up on the inside. I have often whispered a prayer as I turned the key on my '35 Standard locking cap. The key will take more twist than what feels comfortable to you. All this being said, don't call and complain to me if you break your key off. I have some blanks if you want to make an extra key before you get rough with the one you have,

I had to do that once on my 35 Standard but it doesn't seem to work on the 34. I don't think the fingers are dragging, I just don't think the lock wants to turn. I've tried spraying lub. in the lock but I don't know if it's getting in there.

Just keep spraying PB Blaster etc. and it will come loose eventually.
