Have got most of the metal nailed on now.
I was told that I should put the 9 roof slats on before removing the body off the frame to paint. I was wondering if the slats are nailed or glued on or both.
Do they have to be nailed or glued to each cross ribs?
It looks like there was a metal strip on the front holding the slats on the front cross member.
Any help with this would be great. Thanks Mike

Nailed and glued. The soft metal strapping is in case an end popped free of its nails. It’s added assurance so I use perforated strapping that’s sold often for hanging pipes. It’s malleable enough to get nice and flat on the strips.

Do you nail and glue the slats to every cross rib on the roof?

Yup. If you don’t you will have an extremely noisy roof going down the road

Do you use a metal strip on the last rear cross bow as well to hold the slats down in place?

Yes, the rear of the slats have the most pressure on them due to the curvature of the roof line and would most likely be the most prone to “popping” free.
