Trailered the 41 cabriolet up there and back with no mishaps.
a. Had it judged. Checked everything out before I left home. Got there and the turn signal didn't work and fog lights didn't light up. Gigged for not having a Delco Battery, wrong carburetor and grill slightly faded. I had saved a Carter carburetor that was one of three I had rebuilt by American Carburetor in Jacksonville, FL. Of the three I had rebuilt this one I saved ran wide open when I cranked it up. Couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Had to revert to a Rochester. Tried to get a Delco battery before I left home but too late in ordering one. The judges were generous. I got first jr but would have anyway by default owing to my car was the only one in its class. You know.
b. Dinner was so-so. Entertainment was so-so. Some members were given the mike and they made it better than it otherwise would have been.

c. Swap meet was pretty much a bust. I bought a set of pretty good 41 fender skirts and a 41 dealers album for a decent/fair price. I hauled a bunch of radiators up there. Couple of 37s, 41 and 42-47 no pressure cap type and a 55/56 six cylinder. All NOS but there was no interest in them by the few who attended the swap meet. There were just a few vendors. I had some pretty good parts but sold nothing.
d. Weather was a bit warm but not bad. Did get a little hot out where the judging went on.
e Ted Holz and his son brought their 39 station wagon (Ted says its really a truck) from Rochester, NY. Lots of other really nice cars. Some appeared to not be driver from one show to the next but I really don't know.
All in all the VCCA club put on a really good show. I thank the members who were instrumental in making this even a pleasant and rememberable one. It was evident that a lot of hard work was performed in a professionalI and journeyman level and that those present were conscientious in performing the full scoop of their duties. I have no real complaints at all.
Best,
Charlie
