My 57 Chevy Bel Air has factory power steering. The generator has part number 1102084 on the Delco Remy tag. I believe the Delco Remy generator is a 30 amp. Generator to support the power steering? I was told "non" power steering cars had a 25 amp. generator p/n 1119000, is that true? My Delco Remy voltage regulator is part number 11109003, and I believe it is also a 30 amp. voltage regulator.? At our recent Vintage Chevrolet Club of America annual judging event, one of the judges said the metal base on my Bel Air voltage regulator should be a silver color anodizing, where my voltage regulator has gold color anodizing finish. Which is correct? I have seen vintage 11109003 regulators on line with both silver and gold color bases. All of The non-power steering regulators p/n 11109000 I have seen have the silver base. Can anyone help me solve this mystery, and would the gold color metal base be a points deduction?

I never heard of such a thing, At least did the judge offer you a place where you could find this information to verify his opinion?
