I have seen these on several cars, but don't where they originally came from. I have seen some with a GM stamp on them. I have heard some people refer to them has Panhandles. Any information?

The 1936 Proving Ground engine pictures and picture in 1935 parts book shows with no hamdle. That being said I do remember seeing 1936 models with handle.

Gene is correct. 1935 and earlier had the plain cap and in 1936 the cap with the handle appeared. I don't know how long it was used.
There might have been a radiator cap with a handle, starting with the '35 Master or maybe not until '36.
