Where is the appropriate place to post an ongoing build thread. Specifically I want to start one on my 1930. The pre-war technical forum?
Thanks, Primo

There's a forum for dues paying club members for their projects. I just noticed you're a club member. You might go to your preferences and check the box that will display the club logo in your posts (see the logo under my name) so folks can tell that. If the forum I mentioned isn't what you're looking for you might drop a line to the webmaster.

The technical forums are supposed to be for Q&A on technical issues. If it's a project blog it shouldn't be there. If that policy has changed someone let me know.

I would also put in the 29-32 technical. It looks like Member Projects is just photos. Maybe we need a restoration forum like the AACA's Our Cars and Restoration forum.

I just know I like to read the whole history of cars and bikes being built. I like to see what challenges and solutions others have encountered and devised. I feel that when posts are separated across forums and individual fixes the "story" gets lost along the way. The technical year and individual component forums are great to answer specific questions that can be incorporated into longer "build" threads to give a whole picture view of a particular car.

Why can't his story go in the "What did you do with your car/truck today?" section?

I put my entire '51 restoration thread in the '49-'52 section. Everyone knew where to find it, and it got pretty technical at times. It's a restoration. No one ever told me it was in the wrong section, so I would assume it wasn't...

I also like the idea of a 'build' thread in the technical forums. If the thread were put into the Members Only area, the general public would not see it. I put my 1928 engine rebuild thread ( Resurrecting a '28 4 banger) in the 1912-1928 technical category. It took an entire year to do the build and I think a lot of folks enjoyed following along.
