insured with them for 40 years and always was happy. never had a claim. yesterday wanted to add my 1940 ford Pickup to my policy. when they saw the photo, told me too much patina and wouldnt insure.
Taking my business elsewhere to Grundy Hagerty Collectors etc. Guess Im not good enough for them............
Beware they are a changin!

Well that's sad. I use Grundy for both my 38 and 53. The 53 has plenty of patina and they never balked about it.

Buyers beware. Most all Agreed Vaiue insurance company’s are great until you have damages and try to resolve the payments for the damages of what you had paid in insurance for all of your years I had Grundy insurance for all of my old cars for over 50 years until 3 years ago had over $10k dollars in damages caused by an upholstery shop. Grundy has NO service when it comes to resolve and payments with all the damages. Grundy is basically Philadelphia insurance which is owed by a Japanese company. Another words it was a worst nightmare and even contacting them. You pay pay and pay your whole life for insurance and when it comes to needing and using it it’s basically not there. I switched all of my old cars over to JC Taylor which uses Foremost insurance. Had no problem with the dollar amount’s for agreed value what so ever on all of my old cars.

JC Taylor has always been one of the insurance agents that shies away from modified vehicles. The even have rejected vehicles due to non-original wheels in the past. I have had antique auto insurance for over 50 years with 4 different companies including JC Taylor. Have had Hagerty the past 10+ years and two claims with no problems. I have friends that also swear by Hagerty and swear at some of the others. I don't get anything but good service from Hagerty in case anyone is wondering.

I had one claim through Grundy on a 62 we owned. Door ding damage on a tour. They were more than fair with me and the body shop that fixed the damage.

i have been working on a project to educate club members about insuring young drivers. If you have anyone with less than 10 years of driving experience, please talk to your insurance carrier. Every one of the carriers has some sort of special requirements. Some carriers have special requirements for anyone under age 30.

I don't know how long this password I was sent will last. As to the instant thread, it would help us out here to make a better call as to the rejection to the 1940 Ford pickup if we has a picture to view. Just saying. Best, Charlie

Charlie, go to your log-in name at the top right of the page and click the down arrow next to your name. Once you click on the down arrow you'll see "Edit Profile". Click on that. On that screen you can set any password you like. Disregard the number of dots you see. Those are placeholders and have nothing to do with your actual password. When you enter your new password and confirm it on the next line down you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Save Changes". Your password won't expire or change unless you change it.

Charlie, just remember when you log on to check the "Remember Me" box. Also don't log off when you leave the page, just leave and you'll stay logged on. The site software does require a log on every so often even if you have the Remember Me box checked so a periodic log on will be required.

Oh crrap! I didn't do that and I'm back to starting over again with your instructions. Pray for my sanity! I'm using the last temporary password. I didn't realize I needed to do the "remember me" thing. Best, Charlie

I am on my second claim to Hagerty after hitting a deer. They have been very good so far.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .
