Oh boy.. Hopefully the purists won't hang me from the highest tree. But in my defence this was built in the mid 1960s and I'm rebuilding it with respect to it's drag racing heritage. No stock parts were harmed in this project. Has a 58 Oldsmobile 9.3" rear end which was a very common swap back in those days. I added front disc brakes by using a kit made for a 55-59 pickup since nobody makes a direct fit kit for these. Kept the straight axle and stock steering box. Floor pan kit came from EMS Automotive. Nobody makes door bottoms so I'll have to fabricate those. Has just enough rotten wood left in it to use for patterns to replicate it with steel square tubing. Rebuilt 350 engine using period correct parts. My goal is to have it look like it would have looked when it was racing in the mid 60s. T5 5 speed trans. Mechanically it's close to finished. Problem is I'm not a body man so it's been slow going lately.

Yep, it's going to go fast!!!! But how do you plan to stop it? I hope you aren't depending on 1936 era brakes!

Front has disc brakes. Rear is from a 58 Olds and has huge drum brakes. Also putting a period correct parachute on the back but it will only be for show. It came from one of Bruce Larson's funnycars. Thanks buddy. It will GO and it will STOP.
