I am replacing the 1 1/4" ID Radiator hoses On my "34 Master..... and I want to know if anyone sells or knows how to fabricate an adapter that splices into the upper hose to branch off into a heater with the 5/8" heater hose...??? Splicing in a Tee for the heater hose...?? I know the model A catalogs have one for the lower metal radiator pipe but our Chevrolets are different. How have other 1934-36 owners adapted a heater into the radiator circulation system...?? Photos & info would be helpful.... Thanks, Sunny

Changing out the engine to hook up a heater seems a bit much. How did the factory install the heater hoses?

Perhaps purchasing an accessory installation manual would have that information and a lot of other useful info.

I am NOT planning on changing out the engine to install a heater.... I do not yet know the condition of my engine... It has not run since 1970... and sat outside for at least 30 years... So NOW I am getting ready to find out... I am having the carb rebuilt (Dean Echols) and have purchased oil pan and valve cover gaskets, heavy-duty 6 vt battery cables, new distributor cap, rotor, condenser, plugs & plug wires..... and removed and cleaned gas tank, and when I removed the old radiator hose, it had a make-shift, funky tee hooked into the lower hose... that had a cut heater hose attached... so I am asking... HOW DID PEOPLE HOOK UP A HEATER HOSE to a 1934 master engine..... the reason I asked, in the event my current 207 engine is JUNK... "Will a 216 bolt up to my '34 master tranny...?? ".....or would I need a different bell housing , clutch, pressure plate, flywheel... etc..???? I know the motor mounts will be different...
Hopefully someone in this Chevy club will have a '34 master with a heater in it and tell me how it is hooked up to the cooling system... perhaps even send photos...
And Hopefully, someone will be able to tell me if a 216 engine can be installed..... IF my ENGINE ends up being JUNK...

Here are a few pictures of the heater hose connections in my 34 Master. I don’t know whether it’s correct or not but was this way when it came to me. The 90 elbow with the 5/8” nipple in the lower radiator hose was leaking so I fabricated a new one to replicate the one that was there. Hope this helps. Mike

Thanks Mike... That helps a lot... I see that I can weld a 5/8" tube onto the 90 degree tube bend..... I already have the 1/2" tee on the head for the return hose and the temp sending probe..... Thanks... these photos are exactly what I was looking for.... Sunny

Sunny,
I think I can send you one of the fittings for rubber hose as shown in Dave's post. I'm pretty sure I have a complete one that I will never use.
