I have two 1957 truck sales brochures. One shows the 3000 series V8's as 265 cu in and one shows 283. Most publications only show 265. Did the 283 replace the 265 late in the year? I know that 283's were available all year in medium duty trucks.

In 1957 ALL 1/2, 3/4/ 1 and 1 1/2 and 2 ton trucks had a 265 EXCEPT the 283 was optional on the 2 ton.
5000 series also had a 283 engine.
The 265 engines were painted gray.
