Taking the water pump apart on my 33 1.5 ton. The impeller looks hand made, almost as if someone made it years back - does this look correct?

If not, any idea where I could get one- or get the specs to machine one? I don’t see it on Filling Station.

Looks like someone made that impeller. It is basically the same shape as an original. Occasionally the rebuild kits with new shaft and impeller show up on eBay or other sites. Might try Marx Parts (https://marxparts.com/) (7323 CTH-N, Arpin, WI 54410 Phone: 715 652 2405) or Gary Wallace (http://earlychevyparts.com/) (600 Susan Road St. Louis, Missouri 63129 (314) 293-1991). They have parts that the Filling Station does not stock.

Caution: The later pumps have an impeller that looks the same but is thicker so won't fit into the space available. The closer the impeller fits the better it moves coolant.

How Sweet the roar of a Chevy four!

Thanks Chipper. Is this a 1933 only part? You mentioned later years not fitting- wondering if 34 will fit or no?

I’ll look into both references you have for further parts help.

The impeller was same same from 1929-1934 EXCEPT 1933 and 1934 Standard car. The impeller came with a water pump repair kit.
Do not describe it as a gear or you might get something else.
The one in the pump now looks like t came from an aftermarket water pump.

Thanks everyone- getting it rebuilt. Turns out someone in the past welded a 36 impeller to the end of the shaft. Hoping this addresses some cooling issues.

Is the baffle plate in the block in good shape?

Baffle plate was in great shape. Ended up going with Bob Marx on a water pump rebuild. The old one was an amateur weld job joining a 36 impeller onto my 33 housing.

Just put the rebuilt one back on yesterday, solved the issue. Drive around in 97 degree heat, no leaks, never ran hotter than 180 - I’d call that a success.

Thank you all for the help.
