11 hours seems very reasonable to me. I could not get it done in that amount of time.

Man. That's a lot of money.

You should get under there yourself and stare at it for a few minutes to make sure if that's what really needs to happen.

I would assume that once it's dropped its gunna be a tight tight fit, but if there's enough room to wiggle it around and slide it out I would try that first.

But that's just me. I would do everything I could not to pay someone damn near 1000 for just a oil pan gasket.

You only need to remove the hood and front radiator with its housing to remove the engine. The radiator housing moves forward and off the chassis once the fender bolts on the inside are removed. The sump can be removed without disconnecting steering parts. Tackle each leak one at a time. Remember there is no crankcase seal and only a felt seal in the front on the 207 motor. Leaks here require searching the forum for info. Oil leaks keep me busy on my '36. Must still remove pushrod cover to repair leak on front corner.

Are people serious...?? that you might have to remove the engine to change the oil pan gasket...?? Looking under my '34 207.... to see about dropping my pan... the only thing that I see that is in the way of dropping the oil pan is the steering tie rod that goes between the two steering arms...(it almost touches the pan, thus preventing it from dropping down..... It looks like I could just unhook one end of the tie rod and that would provide the clearance needed to drop the pan..... Am I missing something here..??? Surely many of you have dropped the pan on a 207... what needs to be done to pull the pan...???

My car is a 1936 Standard Coach with the 207 and I only removed the flywheel cover. There is enough room to slide the pan back and tilted down to the rear so it clears the tie rod.
