I would like to have my 1948 Chevy 1/2 ton truck enter CDPC judging. However, it sports a rebuilt 235 c.i. 6 cylinder 1955 truck engine. Do I understand correctly that because the truck is from the "6 cylinder era", that the engine must be from 1929-1954, thus making my truck ineligible for a CDPC award? Please advise. Thank you. Luke, We are glad that you are considering entering your truck at a VCCA meet. The modification of a 235 instead of a 216 is an acceptable upgrades. It's not like you are throwing a blown Mopar 440 magnum into it. You are following the guidelines that the Judging Manual has stated. If you haven't checked out the VCCA Judging Manual which is a PDF on our website here- https://vcca.org/page/judging

I suggest you look over the CDPC guidelines. Good luck . Steve

Thank you...I missed this detail on the form:

"For the 6 cylinder era – 1929-1954. All Chevrolets must have a Chevrolet engine that was produced between 1929 and 1954 or any 235 six cylinder engine produced thru the year 1962."
