hi, I recently purchased a set of NOS hub caps for the wire wheel rims, ez to tell these are NOT the current ones offered.
Im curious to know if the nos ones had a product stamp on them? which Co made the hub caps for Chevrolet in 1935?

Many Chevrolet caps of that period had HURD Mfg. Co. stamped inside them. I assume this is the same company that made locks and keys. Ford products used Hurd locks from the 30s into the 60s.
The Chevy locking hub caps for spare tires used Hurd locks so it is likely the entire cap was made by them. The key for these caps is the same as the Ford ignition and door key except the hub cap key is longer and requires a couple more cuts.

BLC also made hub caps for GM.
I don't recall seeing a mahufactors name in earlier hub caps. If it has a true Bow Tie it is genuine or a later reproduction that used the Bow Tie with Chevrolets permission.
