I have a 1936 Chevy Master coupe and the passenger front brake drum will not come off. The other 3 came off just fine. Any help would be much appreciated. The pic shows 3 rivet like studs that the other 3 drums don't have.

The original drum and hub is riveted together. To remove drum hub must beremoved via the large nut. The other one that the drum came off from has been replaced and not re-riveted or bolted which is OK also.

Would it be ok to use a cut off blade to remove the rivet heads as long as I give time in between each one so as not to over heat the drum so that I don't have to remove the hub.

Would be easier to remove the spindle nut AND REPACK the front wheel bearings while you are at it.

I assume that the problem is in that the shoes are grabbing the drum. Maybe owing to grooves in the drum and shoes. If so, back off the two adjusters (counterclockwise when looking at the wheel cylinder from on end) and then using two stout screwdrivers fitting them alternately around the circumference of the drum, between the flange and the drum and leveraging/prying them apart. They can sometimes be a bitch. dance
