the bolts on back main bearing are 7/16 is the torque 70 pounds

That sounds like a lot. 1/2 - 13 head bolts are only torqued to 55 or so.

1/2" head blots are torqued to 70 pounds on 216 engines abd 105 on 235 engines.

Torque values were not given in 1934 as no one even had a torque wrench.
Looking at later years for a 7/16" bolt I would use 70 foot pounds.
Note that in the later years where torque is given it states "with oiled threads".
