Hi, I'm a new member and this is my first attempt posting. I've got a question on the number of ball bearings that go between the flywheel housing and the clutch spring tension rod. When I was taking the clutch apart, they fell out on the floor. I found 6. When I was trying to reassembling it, it looked like there was room for at least 1 more ball bearing. So should there be 6,7 or ?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
. The 1923 & 24 clutch used a carbon throw out bearing with a cone clutch. Only picture I could find is a 1927 with disc clutch. There are no ball bearings unless someone replaced with optional through out bearing. Lou . . .
Hi swedechev, thank you for your help! I bought an assortment of ball bearings from Amazon so I’ll add one. Next project is putting a new leather clutch on. Thanks again!
Swedechev is correct there are 7 , they are5/16 balls. I replaced them as two were missing and the rest worn down. I used Lucas tacky grease to hold them in place during reassembly.
