The two holes are for rubber bumpers. They are rectangular with the arched side to fit into the recess and held by a screw into the door frame.

Put a wanted ad for the door latch and likely someone will have one. Make sure you get the needed side and application as they are not universal.

By some of the modifications already performed on the car it would appear to be headed for becoming a resto-rod. If that is the case it would probably be best to change those original door latches to a bear claw style. Much more secure for a car destined to go much faster than original. You will still need the rubber bumpers. They have a screw through a precast hole that hold them in place. Each door will have 2.

I bought this chevy two years ago. I've long long time wanted a car like this. I saw an ad and seller Ted Veron said the car is fresh built and fun to driev. Unfortunately, I live on the other side of the globe and couldn't see the car myself. When the car arrived, the harsh truth became clear. The car was completely rusted and the engine was stuck and built as badly as possible.I was very sad and angry. I had to start restoring the car from scratch and I will try to deal with it slowly but surely.

Hello llmar,
Two years ago it appears that someone took you 'for a ride'. That refers to a scam and other unpleasantries. Being curious, I tried to look for Ted Veron on the internet. No luck. I did find a Ted Vernon Specialty Automobiles/South Beach Classics from the Miami Florida area. I do not know if you meant to say this person or business. Looking for reviews of this business, I read good and I read bad. Enough bad usually means that a business will go out of business only to come back with a new name to continue praying on customers. I found that out when I bought a certain kit car trusting in the company being reputable. Your example is an on going lesson to tell people to beware when relying on trust. This reflects poorly on those people and their country when you tell your story to your friends and associates.

There was a reality TV show that featured Ted Vernon selling older cars in Miami. If you read further down in google you will find he has had some difficulties since his show ended.

The side splash aprons are being reproduced. The Filling Station carries them. Last time I looked they were $350 a pair. The front splash apron is a '29, and '30 item only. That item is not being reproduced. The one you have does not look in all that bad of condition. Maybe you can find just the aluminum strips that accent the sheet metal. The crank hole cover is being reproduced and can be found either at The Filling Station, or C P Automotive.

Yes. this one is right - Ted Vernon Specialty Automobiles/South Beach Classics. It is shame that man like he do this. And lie straight to face. of course, I should have researched more the background myself. Now just have to deal with it and make the car drivable again.

Hey again. Maybe someone can help me. I am looking for left rear door. Basically my door is good but the upper edge of the door is damaged enough to replace it. Maybe someone has door like mine whitch is rusted or damaged the lower edge of the door, so I can use it. I do not know jet but I think new door(if this is even possible to order) is very costly to order. Do anyone know is there big differents between ford and chevy doors?
Thank you

Hello llmar,
I think that your last post, about the door, should be started in a new posting. This current posting, about the door pillar holes, has already been seen by people that may not find a need or want to look at it again and not see that you are asking a different question. Just my opinion.
