I know nothing about Main Sprig oil at all. But to soak a porous material with a very high viscosity oil is probably not the best idea. You will see the result within a few ours.

perhaps viscosity was not the correct choice of words---it is a high quality oil designed not to just run off like a thin oil might. About the same consistency as the 80-140 gear lube mentioned in a previous post. Well,is in there now and has to be better than what I have not put in there in 13 years,or so I hope!! Oops....Thanks Mihaly and everyone for your valued help.
