I am restoring a 1931 Chevy Sedan Special. The lower edges of the body are rusted out and I am replacing them. On the lower back corner of the sedan body, it appears there is some kind of split in the sheet metal. At least the flanges on the side and the back do not appear to attach, and perhaps this continues into the body curve. Can someone send me a picture of this lower corner of their stock body? Or offer any advise as to how this sheet metal should be attached. Thanks for any help

When posting pictures a closeup is good but a larger picture also helps people understand the area in question better. It appears that your body is upside down and that is the rear corner where the body would go over the fuel tank apron. Is the other side rotted out also?

Yes, the picture is the body upside down and it is showing the right rear corner of the body if the body was right side up. The other corner was in much worse shape and has now been mostly rebuilt. In the picture the rear fender goes into the rounded area to the left. Thanks for mentioning the fuel tank apron, I will see if I can dig it out of storage and take a look at it and how it would fit around the body. The flanges at the top of the body get nailed to the wood framework at the rear of the body. I am guessing that the corner of the body is all one piece and just the flange is split, but it would be nice to see a picture of a real one. I will try to take some more pictures.
