I’m on the hunt for a reputable shop that can restore and update the gauges in my 1951 Styleline Special. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

Specifically, I’m looking for:
… A complete cosmetic and mechanical restoration
… 12V conversion
… Amp meter converted to volt w/ matching artwork

A shop that could also restore the mechanical clock would be a bonus.

I appreciate your help!

When you do find a vendor please let us know who it is and then the results. I just checked to have the ones from my 51 serviced as original and the quote was 3-5 hundred for a cosmetic re-do and repairs if needed are extra other than lubing the speedometer.

Which shop gave you that quote?

Just Google “automotive gauge restoration”. Then you can start tracking down customers to get feedback.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've done some research already. I posted here because I want to get direct feedback from club members.

This is who I spoke to. They were easy to talk to and helpful over the phone but I have not used them. That being the case I would ask for some previous customers for references. https://dandmrestoration.com/services/clusters/ Also as a VCCA member you might want to check with the Tech advisor listed in the G&D or contact Dave Sylvain who has been writing restoration tips in the G&D and also has a restoration shop.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hubcap than ride in a Ferd.
