Replacing the roof material is straight forward, and the installation of the wireon supplied is also. The wireon goes on fine until you come around the corners. curse  I'm sure someone else has had the same problems. Everytime I look at it mad I know it has to go. I have the new wireon but hesitate to start over. Is there another product out there.

Ouch... JYD, even I know what he's referring to.. it's the wire loom that is used as after-market edging for the soft tops.

Now... my question back to Leo, is why would you use this when you can now get the metal replacement that is a very good reproduction to the original?

Bill, When you don't know what your doing this is what happens. I did not know you could get the metal replacement and when the roof was replaced in the 70's it came back with that type of moulding and I assumed (you know what that means)that was the only material available. I had looked at a 31 Coupe and that is what was installed and when I ordered my material that is what was sent.I am not a happy camper with the looks of it and decided it was time to confess and ask the question. If it is available I certainly want to order it and get pass this problem. Before the Dog jumps in again I'm not on BUDWEISER. laugh laugh

Of course I know what "wire on" is but with Leo being a novice "wire on" might have had a different meaning for him, since a lot of dudes in the hobby call it "hindem strip". So, before I answered his question I wanted to make sure that we were both thinking the same thing. laugh

Ok Folks, I'm not finished yet  When I placed the order for the top kit I asked to talk to some one about the wireon and the dude told me he never sealed the tacks and he also installed the wire on with the large bead on the outside... the instructions said the small bead on the outside...so you figure that one out. For the life of me I'm trying to figure out how you keep the water from leaking inside   If the roof collects water and is held inside the wireon or the steel moulding it should be sealed! SOoo what say you about that

I know that Bob's has the '31 style roof molding as does the Filling Station but was not aware that he had the correct molding for '32. Has someone actually gotten the '32 stuff from Bob  ?

Don, Chevychip, I called Bobs today and the lady informed me that they only make the mouldings for Buicks.
