Had to remove the headlight lens.

There was a "seal", in the annulus at the edge of the reflector where it meets the stainless bucket. It looked like it came out of a tube originally, but it wasn't a silicone, as It pulled out, with a bunch of pulling, in one stretched out piece. White in color.

What to reseal this with to keep water out of the reflector? 3M strip caulk (non-hardening)? A piece of ~3/16" O-ring cord stock?

Something else?

Thanks,
Doug

Sounds like it might be a teflon pump packing . Probably was a cork gasket originally. I think the strip-caulk would be very messy to use or remove.

I’ve been using different diameter (depending on what car) rubber window screen spline. Find a diameter that stays in the channel with slight pressure or you can use dabs of silicone to hold it in place. A 25’ roll was less than the cost of a single gasket. Of course these days I have no idea what it’s selling for.
