Howdy, Can anyone advise how best to clean/service an air filter for a 207cid engine? All I show is a top filter that I assume I can clean with solvent and maybe oil. What about the rest? Thanks, Roman

Turn upside down and slosh mesh in kerosene or ? and allow to dry. Turn top up and oil mesh with a heavy #40 or 50 oil. I would not attempt to get in the fiter can for fear fluid could get trapped in side. It was a poor design.

So the top mesh on the above air cleaner is shot. It's falling apart and I am not certain that a replacement is available. I have an oil bath air cleaner(photo looks like it took a bath in oil) off of a 1936 engine that has the same size mouth opening, so could I just use that one instead? It is a mess, but it will clean up just fine. I have the 2 pieces soaking in diesel now.

I thought so. If I can find a mesh filter for the one, would it be of value to anyone?
