I need to remove a damaged steering wheel center 'horn button' on my 1936 Master Deluxe coupe. Before tacking the job, does anyone how to readily remove it? I understand the top 'horn button' has a rubber part on the underside and two long metal prongs attached that make electrical contact within the steering column. Any advice will be appreciated.

If I understand your question, you can get a screwdriver under the edge of the Button and pry it up. It should come out easy.

The rubber under the button itself returns the button after honking the horn. You will need a new rubber as these wear out.. Some have added a return spring. The long wire parts that go in holes push on the electrical that make the horn honk.
