In the Forum listings, I find the catagory named "1942-45 Military Vehicles". There are hardly any posts in it. I think this is probably because of the "Military Vehicle" part of the title. There were enough vehicles built for the commercial market during these years, it seems a mistake to label them all as Military. I recently bought a 45 1/2 ton (basket case) that was never military. I for one, would realy appreciate this 1942-1945 catagory to open up to non-military vehicles as well. In other words, to drop the "Military Vehicle" part of the listing or replace it with "WW II Period Vehicles". I think it might become an active and helpful catagory for those of us lucky enough to own some of these rare, hard-to-get-info-on vehicles. Thanks for your consideration, Administration.

I don't know how much you have researched the vehicle production in early 1942 to late 1945 but except for the dribble of 1/2 ton trucks late in the period and possibly a few off assembly line completions the rest are Military. That includes many non-vehicle production units.
Your "1945 is essentially a 1942 truck as are the 1946s as well. I have a 1943 1 1/2 ton truck that clearly is a Military vehicle and very rare as well.

I would have to agree. I thought years ago the "1937-41" forum use to be 1937-42. There were/are still plenty of 1942 passenger vehicles and trucks out there.

I agree also!!!
Besides the 1942 models, there were over 6200 1945 series 3100 pickups built. And over 1850 1945 3/4 ton pickups. And over 28700 1945 1-1/2 ton trucks. And over 20800 1944 1-1/2 tons. And over 1160 1943 1-1/2 tons. And to my knowledge none of the above were "military".
I happen to own one of those 1945 1-1/2 tons myself, and it is clearly not military, and never was.
So I too think all of these vehicles deserve the respect of a section of there own.
