I have noticed when moving my bare chassis around that the steering column tends to move up and down instead of the wheels. No body so it is not connected to the dash and the two large bolts and saddle by the frame are all that are holding it in one position. Also noticed the same thing on my 29 chassis. I have tried tightening the bolts but it still moves.

Is this normal and with it fastened to the dash will it not strain the sheet metal dash? If not normal I was thinking of adding shims under the saddle but wanted to ask here for you experience.

thanks

Dave

My 32 did the same so I would say it is normal.
