On my 32 the windscreen moves up and down in the rubber side guides. The top and side metal strips remain attached to the glass .Would think the 29 is the same.

While you have it apart that is the time to make sure it does not still have the original plate glass windshield. All it would take is a rock, an accident, or something else to make all those long sharp pieces of glass to come in on you right when you might need your eyes the most. Many people were killed or injured by that type of glass. That is why safety glass was made mandatory in 1932 for American cars. Knowing that bit of history, when I got my '29 coupe it was a repair that nagged me to get done for some time.

Do you have enough of the surrounding parts to make an accurate pattern?

Steele Rubber makes the standard rubber channels for the 1929.
take a look and see, they also make 85% of the rubber for the car (door bumpers, pedal covers, etc...) can look on their website or call them and they will send you a catalog specific to your vehicle FREE. got most of my window rubber and channels that way.
