I figured I’d add this to the forum. I recently received a complete wiring harness that was ordered from RI Wiring. I only live and 45minutes from them so often I go down to pick up odds and ends I need. When the harness was ordered we were told 8-12 weeks because of the current supply issues most companies are experiencing. Well 5 weeks later it arrived at my door. Each harness, main, ignition, dome light, cowl lights, was individually bagged with its respective schematics. The schematics and instructions are top notch and the harness is so easy to install, even a caveman can do it! I’ve used other harnesses that have equally quality materials but find RI Wiring goes beyond. Their instructions and schematics are the best I’ve seen. Their use of the correct color and tracer combinations compared to factory is another plus rather than all black with non original paper number tags that need to be removed after installing for a correct restoration. Correct gauge battery leads with the proper insulation, proper colored/gauge instrument jumper wires, metal eyelets crimped, soldered, shrink tubes, and metal conduit are big pluses. The big thing for me is their correct use of connectors. RI Wiring installs the correct GM metal bayonet twist lock connectors used at the fuel tank and at the dash to chassis on some GMs. This is important for authenticity and I was quite perturbed when my expensive harness for my Olds came all black with modern crimped bullet connectors with Bakelite unions. RI Wiring did not have a pattern for my car and my original harness was shredded so I had to go elsewhere. While my olds harness is made of quality materials and workmanship, it didn’t go beyond like a RI Wiring harness does. Just my experience but figured I’d post if someone is considering an exact restoration.

I have used both Rhode Island and Y&Z and been very satisfied with both. I tend to lean to Y&Z as the owners are long standing VCCA members. Never had a problem with either on installation or instructions.

Love RIW ordered plenty of wire and connectors from them
always helpful and will answer questions when i call.
ordered some wire from them, taped and marked it up as directed, sent it back and had them factory loom it for me. got it back pretty quick and looked great. this was a custom wiring harness i was making for my 1929 Signals. so a wire to all four corners, to the dash, and to the brake switch. Very Happy with it, and looks great installed.
