Hello all!
I have the stock 47 rear end and pirchased some NOS E-brake cables. Dose anyone know how these bad boys attach to the brake housing? I'm confused? Help!

Thanks in advance!

Does what you bought look like what's in the above link?

On the end of the cable is a bracket that bolts to the back plate with two bolts.

Hello and thank you so much for responding to me!

Yes the part in the link you sent is what I have. What puzzles me is that there is 2 matching brackets that are crimped to the cable and they are not close enough to put together and there is a foam gasket that sandwiches between the brackets for what reason I'll never know! Dose one bracket go on the inside of the backing plate and one on the outside?

Am I over thinking this?

Thanks,

You may want to post your question in either one (not both) to get a better response. I would ask in the '46-'48 section.

It has been a long time since I did the brakes, I don't remember much. Go ahead and post in one of the other sections.

Here is a picture of the rear Huck Brakes. 5.149 Lever should connect to your cables. Knox this says 1933, but should be the same as your 47.

Found this on You Tube. Look at around 40 minuets.

Yes, one of the brackets goes on the inside of the backer plate while the other and the seal go on the outside. If I recall it takes some finesse to fish it through the hole. Mike

Hey guys, I am also looking for an OKIE BUSHING removal tool. Dose anyone have one that they would want to sell or loan out! I will only need it once.

Thanks in advance!

You should also ask down in the "Parts Wanted".

There are bushing removal tools but I don’t think there is one to remove an Okie bushing. Most of them have a very tight fit and it requires driving it out from the other end of the tube with a pipe. Some people saw a groove in it to weaken its grip on the tube,

I think you will find that the wording is poor. That tool is to remove the front yoke bushing. The Okie bushing assembly has a rear bushing and seal for the driveshaft. With the driveshaft in place there is no way of accessing the rear of the Okie bushing assembly.
