I have the convertible top pump motor/pump shown in the photo which sure looks like the assembly on my '48 convertible. It is an Auto-Lite unit. Other than that, it looks like the Dura Hydro-Lectric unit on my car. I've seen a number of the Delco Moraine Hydro-Lectric units and the repair & testing literature for them. Did Auto-Lite also make an identical unit for GM/Chevrolet? It does have a model number like the Delco units.

For those of you interested...

I noticed that the 1949 parts book was the first time that two different units were mentioned, but no indication as to whether they were just different versions made by Delco. I dug out my Chevrolet Service News and found the information shown in the photo below from the October 1949 issue. In 1949, Delco made slightly different versions of the pump assembly (Dura & Moraine), but the motors were provided by both Delco and Auto-Lite.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Good to know this really is a Chevrolet top pump assembly. I hadn't realized that the pump for 1949 cars was the same/similar to the 1946-48 cars and certainly did not know Auto-Lite provided motors for GM.
