My recently acquired 31 Independence 2 door seats are bolted to the wooden floorboard. I an 6'2" tall and find it difficult to manage. Hope to remove the driver seat and move back 4 to 6 inches. Does anybody have a recommendation to share? Does anyone sell and adjustable track for that purpose? Thanks!

I expect that you could adapt any of the generic adjustable seat tracks to fit your needs. One point to onsider is that typically seat tracks do raise a seat at least one inch if not more.

Whichever solution you choose make sure you are fastening to solid portions of the floor and body. You might want to consider some type of reinforcing metal plates to spread the load.

Both good suggestions Rusty. Good name you have given the hobby we both enjoy! Was hoping their was a site where I could order a ready to go seat adjuster mount. Perhaps not -

The other thing some people do is to heat and slightly bend the shifting lever. About 2" toward the passenger side really helps. Another consideration is since the seats in a coach are not adjustable if you do move it back 4 to 6" no one else will be able to drive your car because they won't be able to reach the pedals. You might start with 2 to 3". Just a thought.

Before mounting the seats the plan is to experiment with adjustment length. I am from a family of tall people so the final adjustment should work well for whomever drives it it my lifetime. After that let any new owners deal with with it accordingly. Thank You!
