When did Chevy quit using them on the front steering and suspension?

Thanks, Pete

I remember back in the 70s you could get permanently sealed OR ones with grease fittings. Last year I bought a new idler arm for my '06 Silverado. It has grease fittings. So probably depends on the model as to the answer.

It's not only Chevy or GM who has chose to use sealed bearings in these locations. I recall seeing this practice begin in the late 70's and increase as well as decrease depending upon failure rates. My family was a Chevrolet dealer and I practically grew up in and around the dealership. I at one time worked under the lube rack, detail shop and body shop, eventually working into parts manager and attempting my hand at sales, but of all the positions, I preferred the parts room.
