I have a friend that has a '33 Chevy frozen transmission, does anyone know if a later model would interchange with that original? The straight-six motors were used for so many years that maybe it can be mated to a newer trans?

Thanks,
James

due to the 1933 Eagle//Master having free wheeling I would doubt f the 1934-1936 Master transmmission would fit.

Maybe just getting the original transmission rebuilt might be the easiest way to get going again.

Thanks, I know that Chevy made that same style motor and trans for many, many years but just didn't know how universal they were.

Sometimes a “frozen” transmission is as simple as that it somehow got shifted into 2 gears at the same time.

It does happen! Don’t ask how I know.

I would remove the topcover and see what is hung up. It may be just the worn forks.

I have a 33 Chevy Master transmission with FWheeling. I am looking at swapping out the transmission in December. I will have a working transmission for consideration, if interested.

Not positive but I believe a '32 transmission will interchange with a 33 because they both have free wheeling. I doubt that a later transmission will fit even if it would bolt up to the bell house, the drive shaft would be too short. Best to either fix what you have or find an exact replacement.

The 1932 will work but most '32s had the early version with the straight cut gears in 2nd so 2nd was as noisey as low.

Hey there James!
I have a couple 33 Transmissions W/Free Wheeling if needed.
