I am new to 49 Chevrolet and I am wondering was overdrive offered for styleline or fleetline? I never see any reference to it in sales literature or owners manual .If it was not offered was there some reason? every other non-GM car of that era that I have owned offered overdrive.

There was an aftermarket over dive avaliable It was sold under the nams of Trukstell and rather expensive. Was more commonly found in thr Great Plains states.
