Hi guys, I unboxed a complete 1954 truck radio w/ speaker recently that I have had on the shelf for 25yrs.

It has two tan wires coming out of it from the lower front of the case, which I assume are the speaker leads.

It also has one or two other wires which I assume are the hot and ground leads?

Any gurus our there that know which color wire from the radio goes where? As I recall, it was a working radio,
but I want to re-confirm that after all these years.

Thanks for any help,

Bobaloue

You would normally have one lead for the main power, one for the dial light and at least one for the speaker. It would be helpful to have the installation instructions for the radio. There is usually some sort of support bracket that must be used to support the weight of the radio.

It may also use the radio frame/case as ground/earth like a lot of radios I have encountered. This makes it interesting when fitting to a positive earthed (british) vehicle.
