Hi all. Does anyone have any suggestion on removing cranks endplay on a 1928 4 cyc, other than pouring new Babbitt main bearings. Using a dial indicator I have 30 thousand trust play. My understating is it should be between 6 & 8 thousand. I believe the center main bearing (which is an insert) controls this. I'm thinking this winter I will remove the engine and have all new bearings poured and align bored. I'm was hoping to come up with a temporary solution so I can drive it through the summer.
