You cannot edit the title for a post. I assume it is the way the data file for the thread is created, stored, searched, and retrieved.

Changing the title is a much bigger task in the data processing world than editing a post. The old file has to be deleted and a new file created. Any references such as those that show a user posted to a thread have to be changed to the new title.
