I have a 48 Chevy Fleetline with a transmission shift lever that is slipping around the tranny shaft. It is the larger lever on the tranny which has no vacuum assist. The tranny shaft has a slot which my guess is where a key was supposed to be to keep it from moving. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this ? All help appreciated.

Rusty 37 Master Finally figured the sloppy shift arm out ,welded some new material on it an then played with the files an got it to fit. Yesterday took it for a drive and it really felt great. I appreciate all help and suggestions.
