If Joe Blow ordered a V-8 powered 210 or Bel Air (new) in 1956, would a 265 or a 283 have been delivered?

265 in 55 and 56 and some 57 trucks. 283's debuted in 1957 model year. mike mccagh

The 265 was was available in any passenger car in 1956. t could come with 162,170, 205 and 225 horse pwer with various transmission options.

late in the 1956 model year, corvette was also offered with a 240HP 265. i believe this was the first instance of the use of the Duntov cam. these corvettes were scarce then and even more so now. mike mccagh

The 240HP car engine was available with the Duntov cam and mainly used for stock car racing.
