I found a windshield that is supposedly for a 1953-54 Chevy or Pontiac convertible/hardtop, has a reference number W-318 written on it. Is the W-number something that would be in a Hollander interchange manual? Haven't bought a Hollander manual yet, so wondering if someone that has one could confirm the windshield will fit a 53-54 hardtop. Thanks.

Kerwin, I don't remember any letters preceeding the Hollander numbers in my books. I can check for you tonight. I also have a catalog for auto glass (PPG, I think) which might be helpful. I assume you are saying the number is written in crayon, on the windshield, so it could be identified later in a used parts store or wrecking yard. call me this evening if you like at 573 864 6539.

That is the number listed by some vendors for the 53-54 hardtop. No idea what the "W" indicates.
