Has anyone else had the problem of their 03 Blazer not starting when it rains? We finally figured out drying the distributer gets it going. Is there a fix for this problem? Thanks Ron

Try a new distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires.

Spray the cap with WD 40 it sheds water and gives some protection from moisture.

As Chipper suggested WD40 works though you may find it needs to be done regularly. When I havent been in a hurry I have sprayed with clear lacquer with a longer success rate but if there is any oil or WD40 residue the lacquer may not stick very well.

Ron just more food for thought. I had the same type of problem when I was stationed in Germany with a 1984 corvette. I solved it by replacing the plug wires. Old plug wires can let in moisture making it almost impossible to start the car.

Thanks for all the sugestions ,I have replaced rotor ,cap and plug wires, still having the same problem. I am going to try some ignition spray next. I know it is a moisture problem but how to fix it so far is a mystery! Thanks

You have done the obvious things. Thanks for that info.

am not familiar with all the details of the ignition system on this engine. Does it still have a module within the distributor?

If so that housing could have a small crack in it that allows moisture to get into it.

I used silicone spray on an older vehicle with problem. As stated with the WD 40 it did have to be re sprayed periodically.
