My 29 Cabriolet basket case came with two tops. Robin helped me figure which one was for my car but the one pictured is unknown. The hand written tag reads 29 Cabriolet sedan.

Can anyone confirm my guess? And better yet point someone that needs one in my direction?

I need to see if there are any common parts to explain why the owner of my car had it but it really doesn't look anything like my top.

Thanks

Dave

Looks very close to the 29 Conv Landau Sedan I have. I could not get the picture to zoom in. I am not going to be near my car for a few months but there other people with this model who could confirm measurements.

Thanks Art, I will put up some measurements.

I did find a picture of the top down in John Robertson's book Chevrolet 1929-1939 three bows and the hardware I can see matches.

I can't imagine someone restoring one that needs a top but you never know.

At the top where it would clamp to the vehicle it is 56" and at the bottom where the top would fasten to the wood frame it is 52". The bottom is approximate due to possible warpage of the bows.

Thanks

Ditto Beachbum, looks like the convertible top for 1929 imperial Landau. A zoomable image would help to confirm.

I bet there is someone who could use some or all of the parts on that piece. Probably not a high dollar item but those latches could be used, or possibly the hinges. There are people out there who have basket case cars that may not have any of it at all.

I can zoom it by clicking on it and then moving two fingers apart on my laptop mouse like pad. Those are technical IT terms ; ). If you don't have that I am not sure other than I might be able save it in another format.

I measured the bows on my 29 IL today. The bow that folds and clamps against the back is 55.5 inches and is 20 tall. These would be impossible to find if needed, so I hope they go to a usable holder. I'm think Gary Wallace, but the need mayn't justify being inventoried.

Thanks CuChiRVN, I would like to see it on a car as well. It look like it has most of the hardware so maybe someone that needs it will find this post.
