t is an "upper cylinder lbicator"...........an aftermarket gadget that allows a litle Marvel mystery oil to be pulled into thr cobbustion chamber
It should be more in the center of the manifold .

Good to know, this car has been in my family since 1967 since my grandfather bought it and it already had it, he always told me to put some motor oil in it
