I came across these carbs from A-Team Performance, sold through Amazon and they are supposed to be located in Az. For the price I'm guessing Chinese knockoffs. I'm thinking most here might not considered using them but if someone has used them I would like to here of your experience or even if you haven't maybe thoughts on them.

Based on the prices I see for rebuilt authentic Rochester 1 barrel carburetors I can understand why you are considering this. Obviously this would not be for you if you are going for original/restoration.

One of these is costs about 4 times the price of a rebuild kit. If you have a good core then I would rebuild it instead.

The reality is that there is no real quality control on what is produced in China. My experience is all over the map even if I buy from a “reputable” US company. Think Dorman, AC Delco, NAPA, etc. Thankfully I am able to deal with the financial implications of not buying products from China unless I am willing to handle the risk.

I guess your right,... no I know your right. It's just that price grabbed my eye balls. I was thinking for when I put the duel carb intake on I might try two new ones instead of buying two rebuilt for about three times the price. Butt I'm pretty sure it will come down to the old saying... you get what you pay for.

think it states Rochester Compatible... does not say it is a Rochester. looks to be sold as a compatible replacement.

like this statement "These Carbs are great Universal Carbs! Not direct replacements please cross reference our images vs the your Carb!"

I agree with BearsFan315. They are not calling the Rochester carbs, just stating that they are compatible.

The real clue that this is a fast buck distribution house based in China is the wording and sentence structure (or lack thereof) in the description. You will also find the same product and description under a different brand names from a different Amazon sellers.

You might consult with John Ruskin, economist:

If you should EVER need parts (different jets, pump, rebuilding kit because of a bad tank of gas.....etc.) where do you think you can get them???

Jon.

Amen, carbking, I have that very sheet printed out and laying in the shop. I'd show it to folks when I use to do some side line work.

.....worked for a driveline company after retirement and Tom always told the guys "OK, I'll do it YOUR way and you can pay me twice. Once now and again when you bring it back and let me do it right". I saw this happen so many times!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hubcap than ride in a Ferd.
